SPANISH COMICS ARE INCREASINGLY GAINING RECOGNITION AT A EUROPEAN LEVEL
The Comics Festival of
Angulema, France, is the largest in the world. The new edition will host an
exhibition of Spanish comics artists, dedicated to 16 Spanish authors.
Since it was established in 2007, the National Comic
Award has given Spanish authors a boost, and they have managed to cross new borders.
And so the Spanish presence is demonstrated in the festival. The French market
is now more receptive to our comics, as well as Italian ones.
Besides the exhibition, there
will be workshops, conferences, promotions, activities… Moreover, the animated
film Arrugas (Wrinkles) premieres, based on the
graphic novel by Spanish author Paco Roca.
