GIOCONDA DEL PRADO: A DISCIPLE OF LEONARDO IN SPAIN
In the Prado Museum it has been found that the copy of the Mona Lisa had in her collection, original painting by Leonardo Da Vinci, is more important than ever thought. As the picture was made at the workshop of Leonardo, by a disciple, at the same time that the original work was painted.
How did they realize it?
Through a process with infrared reflectography, they
have realized that the painting of the disciple of Da Vinci has the same corrections as the original. So that shows that it witnessed the creation process of Leonardo. Being considered as potential authors include the names: Andrea Salai and Francesco Melzi.
It is assumed that the painting was in Spain in the early decades of the seventeenth century.
