My experience at Taronja Spending eight weeks learning Spanish in Valencia has been a rewarding experience. When I first arrived here, I had a patchy understanding of how basic Spanish grammar works, which gave me a false sense of confidence coming into the country. I was placed into a class that was far too advanced for my level, and I quickly discovered that my listening and speaking skills were practically non-existent. It is fair to say that I was completely baffed in my first week of lessons. I eventually moved down two groups, so I could work on my listening and speaking skills. This level was much more enjoyable, as I wasn’t in a permanent state of confusion. I have noticed my progress continue to grow steadily over the weeks. Now, I feel like I have enough Spanish to get by on my own and develop my skill independently. Understanding street chit-chat is becoming easier, watching Spanish T.V. is becoming more enjoyable, and I can usually interpret written texts.
The teachers at Taronja are young, fun and competent people. Rather than forcing us to fill out boring and repetitive exercise sheets, they make learning more enjoyable by providing innovative activities and games to keep the classroom engaged. The timetable is constantly rotating, so we can benefit from various styles and techniques of each teacher.
Valencia is a truly beautiful city in a variety of different ways. The centre of the city is built around two lively squares, made up of old monuments, statues, restaurants, and constant buzz of passing tourists. The surrounding streets are full of character and are brought to life by the detail of their design, the classical Valencian balconies, and the numerous restaurants. The Turia park is another incredible feature of the city. It used to be a large river flowing through the centre of the city, but people decided to drain it after serious floods in the 1950s. Now, it is a riverbed, which has been converted into a lush garden, where people go to escape the city, exercise and relax.

Hi guys! I'm Elena, a 30yo Italian girl from Venice. I spent 3 weeks in the beautiful city of Valencia 4 years ago, it was my first vacation in Spain and I decided to start learning the language doing a course in Taronja. What a great choice! Days passed by super quickly, I really enjoyed the time I spent there as I felt part of a huge family. They propose interesting activities every day and night and during the week end, supporting people in interacting and meeting new friends. I learnt a lot, Professors were kind and professional and the method they use is the best I tried up to now. I planned my vacations in Barcelona, Malaga and Madrid, always matching with Spanish lessons, during the following 3 years but Taronja remains my favourite. Swapping courses timing every day gives you a lot of free time to go to the beach or visit the city. Nice idea the cooking lessons, too! Super positive feedback for you guys! Une expérience et des rencontres inoubliables Taronja est une excellente école avec des professeurs qui aiment leur travail et une ambiance toujours joyeuse ! Située en plein centre de la ville, il y a de nombreuses choses à faire très proche sans compter les activités organisées tous les jours par l'école. C'est une excellente alternative pour celles et ceux qui souhaitent voyager seuls mais qui aiment la compagnie et les nouvelles rencontres. Les cours sont variés et ne durent pas trop de temps ce qui laissent du temps pour visiter et profiter de la vida espanola ! 🙂 J'y retourne pour une 3e et non dernière fois, je la conseille à quiconque aime apprendre les langues et est intéressé de découvrir la culture espagnole de manière différente qu'en étant un simple touriste !

Alloggiavo negli appartamenti con altri studenti convenzionati con la scuola.
Posso considerare questa esperienza, la più bella mia vita, grazie anche a questa fantastica scuola.
Le lezioni si svolgevano 4 ore al mattino o al pomeriggio, a giorni alterni.
Ogni due ore si cambiava professore e le lezioni non erano noiose e teoriche, ma interattive con giochi, in modo da parlare il più possibile imparando la lingua.
Ogni sera c'era un'attività organizzata.
Il lunedì c'era il tapas tour, il martedì il paella party il giovedì il beach volley e durante il weekend organizzavano o qualche escursione o serate in discoteca.
E' una grande famiglia, che ti permette di conoscere gente da tutto il mondo, praticare la lingua 24 ore al giorno e divertirti.
I professori erano tutti simpaticissimi e preparati.

Hola! Before I arrived to Taronja I knew that I loved the city but I did´nt know much about the school. It did´nt take long before I started to love the school as much as I loved Valencia. The school, the classes and the teachers were fun, friendly and helpful. Besides the regular courses there was always something else to do - great activities with great people to do them with. I enjoyed my stay so much that I extended it and currently planning my next one. This is a school I would recomend to anyone Nos vemos pronto, hasta luego!

I had a wonderful 2 weeks at Taronja and improved my Spanish a lot. It is great that the whole school is run in Spanish with all teaching and explanations included and students encouraged to speak to each other in Spanish even when not in class. This works very well even for complete beginners. I found the teachers very creative and knowledgeable and the lessons were entertaining as well as educational. The cultural and social activities organised by the school are a big bonus in a city as beautiful as Valencia. I can recommend Taronja very highly and will definitely be returning for more lessons and tp spend more time in Valencia as soon as I can.
