Expresiones en español: Meter la pata

Meter la pata significa cometer un error o decir algo inoportuno. Sinónimos de la expresión «meter la pata«: equivocarse, errar, desacertar, fallar, confundirse, marrar, patinar Orígen de la expresión «meter la pata«: la explicación más probable, si bien hay alguna otra, es que está expresión esté relacionada con el mundo de la caza. En español llamamos «pata» a las extremidades de los animales. Por eso cuando un animal mete la pata en una trampa de un cazador, ha cometido un error. Ha metido la pata.

En este curso de español queremos enseñaros expresiones que utilizamos mucho, y en las que los animales son los protagonistas: perros, caballos, cabras, cerdos…, nos servirán para expresarnos y hablar como auténticos españoles : D Para empezar, si le dices a alguien «¡Qué animal eres!», no le estás insultando, o al menos no le estás preguntando cuál su animal preferido o su signo del zodíaco. Taronja school has a very special atmosphere. Just being in the school is an immersive language leaning experience. The teachers are enthusiastic and great at engaging everyone in the lessons. As each lesson is with a different teacher, we experienced a range of teaching styles and ways of explaining the nuances of the language, which further improved our understanding. The students in the classes are varied too, of all backgrounds, ages and languages. Highly recommended. I hope to be able to return.

The school is really great, the classes are very colorful and they suggest a lot of activities. Actually I'm a beginner and i like the way they learn us, it s really interactive. We're not a lot in the class and I think it helps to learn well too and create friendships. I recommend it a lot!

Great Week at Taronja Both my children have been to Taronja to work on their their Spanish (my daughter four times so far) and have both made excellent progress. Then, at long last, Dad made it too! I was looking for an advanced course, which can be difficult to find in smaller schools so it was great to find somewhere that can offer courses at a more demanding level, and even better, that are well taught. All this was backed up with daily printouts of the topics and new vocabulary that arose as we went along. Plenty of great extracurricular laid on outside the formal teaching. Inevitably this was better suited for those a wee bit younger than myself but my two (18 and 21) had an absolute ball! I opted to stay with a Spanish family and was very lucky to be assigned someone who was not only great company but who upon discovering it was my birthday, even laid on a birthday party for me!

I had an absolutely amazing time at Taronja!! I loved my four weeks here (May-June 2019)! I felt that I managed to learn loads in the short time that I was here - the school was very professional and organised, providing lots of excellent resources to aid learning! The lessons were very interactive and always lots of fun - loads of opportunities to practise speaking! Also, the social side was superb - every day there was at least one optional social activity organised, often more! I would love to return one day in the future! A big thank you to all the amazing people here! 🙂

Wunderbare Schule und tolle Erfahrung! Ich war zwei Wochen in Taronja und kann die Schule nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen. Die Leser sind alle sehr gut und sympathisch, der Unterricht ist sehr interaktiv und digital und man lernt sehr viel in kurzer Zeit. Die Schule organisiert unter der Woche und am Wochenende zahlreiche Freizeitaktivitäten, bei denen man Spanisch übt, die Umgebung entdecken kann und viele unvergessliche Momente erlebt.
